Privacy Policy

How Perqora collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use the marketplace, wallet and membership.

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Template notice. This policy is a plain-language placeholder provided for product development. It is not legal advice and must be reviewed and adapted by qualified legal counsel — including for compliance with PIPEDA and any applicable provincial privacy law — before Perqora relies on it in production.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Perqora (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with our local marketplace for discounted digital gift cards. It applies to shoppers, members and business owners who use the Service, and should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account information — your name, email, phone number, role, and, for businesses, your business details.
  • Transaction information — the cards you buy, hold and redeem, order history, balances and redemption records.
  • Payment information — processed by our payment provider; we store limited references (such as a customer identifier), not full card numbers.
  • Usage and device information — log data, device and browser details, and similar technical information.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • operate the marketplace, issue and redeem gift cards, and maintain your wallet;
  • process payments, memberships and business payouts;
  • provide support, security, fraud prevention and account management;
  • give businesses aggregate reporting on their own drops (redemptions, overspend, net-new customers, breakage);
  • send service messages and, where permitted, relevant updates you can opt out of; and
  • meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service: with participating businesses for cards you buy or redeem from them; with service providers who process payments, host our platform and send communications on our behalf; and where required by law or to protect rights and safety. Business reporting is provided in aggregate and does not expose more personal information than necessary to fulfil a redemption.

5. Service providers

We rely on trusted third parties to operate, including a payment processor to handle transactions and payouts and a cloud platform to host our database and authentication. These providers process information under contract and only as instructed. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processor under its own security standards.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then only as long as required to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations or to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level security in our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct or request deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent, or ask questions about how we handle it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable privacy legislation.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for adults who can enter into a binding contract and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, where changes are material, provide additional notice.
